Nate Long “Owl” is an Intentional Artist and community builder, who gains insight through meditative journeywork; and whose creations are truly a “made prayer” to address something bigger or deeper in the individual or our world. Nate’s work can illicit deep thought and encourage cleansing, healing, and blessing of individuals, sacred spaces, and community, and can help raise awareness and ease discomfort, however, that may look.

He is the Activities Director and member of the Elder Council for the Shamanic Community of Austin. He also is directly involved in a Ceremony Community west of Austin, Texas, focused on traditional Lakota ceremonies. Nate is an author of children’s books and poetry. He is the founder of the Austin Labyrinth Project, holding workshops and building labyrinths in and around Central Texas. He also makes drums and facilitates drum-making workshops. His website Blueeyeart.com and his social media presence are also a large part of what he offers the larger community.

Nate has lived with his partner, Lindsay, in Austin, Texas since 1993. He grew up in rural Southern Iowa where he graduated with a fine arts degree from Graceland University.
